Jeff KingIMG_1030

Growing up in a little beach town in northern San Diego, Jeff naturally gravitated towards the world of skateboarding. At the age of 14, Jeff began his career as a pro skateboarder.

Jeff’s company King Rails was the start of his love affair with building courses and creating amazing and unique obstacles for action sport riders.

One of Jeff’s favorite projects was Flatbar Fridays which became a weekly community event geared towards giving kids a place to go after school. Jeff would set up courses every Friday afternoon in the parking lot of Moonlight Beach and it quickly became a local favorite.
Jeff’s passion for re-purposing odd materials and turning them into something usable doesn’t stop there. He’s constantly finding ways to creatively reduce waste in the landfills.

He and his long time friend Laban Pheidias, created the concept Built to Shred, which began as a segment on American Misfits on the action sports channel, Fuel TV. The segment was dedicated to building jumps and ramps out of unconventional materials for action sports top athletes. After the popularity of the segment grew, Fuel TV decided to make give Built to Shred it’s own time slot and the rest is history.

Since Built to Shred, Jeff has been able to work with the best action sports athletes in the world.

His most recent projects include consulting for a Visit California commercial where he designed a floating ramp in Lake Tahoe for Bob Burnquist, designing a ramp for Tony Hawk‘s most recent MINI Cooper commercial, and consulting and set design for the remake of Point Break.
